Sixty finalists have been chosen to serve on the first-of-its-kind independent panel tasked with redrawing the state legislative and Board of Equalization district lines next year. The political map-drawing hopefuls emerged from a pool of 31,000 initial applicants. Fourteen will ultimately be picked to serve on the Citizens Redistricting Commission, created under the 2008 voter-approved Proposition 11.
